Why is keeping up with blogging so difficult?!?!?

We’re going to try to do better in the coming months now that things are picking up again for us. We haven’t been keeping up with Myspace that often, but we’re often posting new stuff on Facebook and Twitter, if you’d like to follow along there as well.

We’ve started a bit of work on a full length and we’re working on tour dates for the near future. We’re hoping to hit the East Coast in May and we’ll let you know as soon as we’ve got some confirmations.

soon. But the past 36 hours, Yusef has been completely consumed by the game below. Which I must admit is pretty damn awesome from what I saw.

Our good friend Mike Baker baked cookies for our show at The Northside Tavern this past Saturday. They were amazing. (He also baked the pies from our first show.) He should seriously open up a bakery and quit his day job. Or become our lawyer.

the EP is on its way…soon

We’ve been hard at work on our new EP the last few weeks, but we’re getting close to having it done. After I finished mixing in the drums we recorded, and doing any final tweaks on arrangements, I handed the music over to Kevin, and he will master that shizzle and tweak it if necessary. There is still one song that I haven’t handed over yet, but I need to record a vocal melody over it, and I need some help from a friend for that.

I’m gonna have to get a bunch of these new songs ‘live’ ready, so we can preform them at our upcoming gigs. We’ve finally got enough songs that we have to kick some off of our set list…and its hard. We love all our songs like our childrens.

Any way, how bout a sneak peak at the new EP Cover i made?

Keeping Busy

Our next show isnt til March 14th, but in the meantime, we’ve been keeping ourselves busy. I’ve been working on finishing up some arrangements, and in mid February we’ll be heading back into the studio to lay down the drum tracks. So figure it’ll take us a couple weeks to finish the mixing and mastering to our liking, and then we’ll unleash another self released EP to the world.

We’ve also got some t-shirts and hoodies in the works. So that’ll be nice. I think ya’ll will like them.

We completed our first show to what some would consider a marginal success. Thanks to everyone who came out. We hope to see you at the Southgate House on Xmas Eve. You know you’ll want a drink after spending time with your family. & The Seedy Seeds are playing. Could life get any better? I submit that it cannot.

but i feel the need to proclaim somewhere that this is the album of the year for me:

Why? - Alopecia

Followed closely by Frightened Rabbit’s The Midnight Organ Fight. But Alopecia edged out because I think it will stand the test of time a little better. And it has amazing lines like “my fear of the bear at showbiz pizza when i was six was overwhelming but not dissimilar to this” and “i’m not a ladies man, i’m a landmine”. Which sound sort of dumb written out, but work so well.
